This was taken last November when we had to have a hundred year old tree taken down that was too close to the house.  It had started to die and would have taken out partof our house.  I so hated to see it go.  She was a beautiful old lady.  I used my Canon Eos Rebel Sxi.  There has been nothing at all done to this picture.  It was an amazing beautiful day.

Hello

Today the weather is supposed to begin changing.  The massive winter storm missed us, thankfully, so we only have a bit of ice and a little snow to deal with.  Many of our friends and family got much worse.  I still like winter, but have had enough for this year.  I wonder if the Primroses are starting to grow under the snow.  They often are green and ready to bloom as soon as the snow melts.  This picture was taken a week or so ago, out the front window, on a day that I did not venture outside.

Sleet

We woke up to sleet on top of snow.  The sleet makes everything look so pretty, however the underlying thought is that it is also doing a lot of damage.  Right now I am choosing to see only the pretty.

The bird feeder was taken through the sliding glass door, closed of course.  I went outside and put stuff on the sidewalk to melt the ice and it sounded very crunchy underfoot.  We are supposed to have much more of this today, tonight and tomorrow.  I think it will be a good day to stay inside and wrap up in a blanket.  Hope you all are having a good day.

Just a Post

It has been a while since I last posted anything.  Life is not boring, just a little slow in January, here in the North East and being retired, we are enjoying the slowness.  Many of our friends are in Florida enjoying the warmth, however they have been having a lot of rain and wind.  Everything is relative.  It is a good time to clean the house, but I really don't want to do that either, sooooooo.  I bought a new computer and am trying to get it set up to my liking.  Windows 7 is a bit tricky for those of us that are not highly computer literate.

Emily got all A's on her reportcard last week and is reading extremely well.  Grandma is so proud.  She had a sleep-over here last Friday and we had such a good time.

A new Martial Arts student, Emily wants to pass her first test and get her Orange Belt.  She will know next week if she was successful.
